Carpenter Marty Transportation specializes in bridge engineering, offering a comprehensive range of services from conceptual design and studies to structural analysis, rehabilitations, inspections, and load ratings. Carpenter Marty Transportation has partnered with state agencies, cities, villages, townships, counties, park and recreation departments, private owners, other agencies, and consultants for more than 20+ years to assist with all their bridge engineering needs. Our dynamic and experienced bridge engineering team includes nine engineers, six of whom are registered professional engineers, bringing over 125 years of combined expertise.

Carpenter Marty Transportation bridge engineers cover all project phases, from structure type studies and hydrology/hydraulic analyses to load ratings, final design, and construction cost estimating. Carpenter Marty Transportation’s structural design and rehabilitation includes highway structures, retaining walls, culvert design, and pedestrian facilities. Our bridge services integrate seamlessly with our roadway and traffic design offerings.

The structures team has experience with all types of bridges including single and multi-span, steel and prestressed concrete beam bridges, and concrete slab bridges. Our team is proficient in many relevant software systems and tools including OpenBridge Designer (RC Pier and Conspan), MicroStation, MERLIN-DASH, MDX, HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR), Aquave Surface Water Modeling System, and ASDIP RETAIN. Our staff frequently reviews the latest trends and available programs upon their release to determine the best option suitable for providing our clients with the highest quality services.

In addition to our bridge design services, Carpenter Marty Transportation also offers a range of structural inspection services. We are knowledgeable in software and bridge inspection equipment including AssetWise, snooper, man-lifts, and bucket trucks. Our structural inspections have ranged in complexity and include steel pony trusses and gusset plates, single and multiple span prestressed concrete box beams and I-beams, steel girders, steel rolled beams, concrete slabs, precast three-sided culverts, and corrugated metal culverts. We also inspect abutment and pier configurations. Some examples include cap and column piers, cap pile piers, wall type and stub abutments and both integral and semi-integral abutments.
