This project improved the parking lots at Char-Mar Ridge Park and Shale Hollow Park for Preservation Parks of Delaware County (PPD). Both projects include demolition of the existing parking lots and construction of new expanded parking lots.

The Char-Mar Ridge parking lot increased the parking lot from 20 spaces to 67 spaces. The project site was just under 1 acre, and included drainage improvements, signing and wayfinding, and traffic control. The Shale Hallow parking lot improvement increased the parking lot size from 8 spaces to 29 spaces. This project site was also just under 1 acre, and included drainage improvements, signing and wayfinding, and traffic control. The Shale Hallow improvement also included realignment of a portion of the existing walking trail.

Carpenter Marty Transportation brought benefit to the client by providing a one-stop firm from planning to completed construction. We were able to provide the client survey, design, bidding, and construction administration. The project included two funding sources (PPD and ODOT funding). Our experience with many municipalities and agencies allowed us to coordinate this funding. Carpenter Marty Transportation provided the client with plan splits and separate bidding documents that made contracting simpler and minimized confusion of what each funding source would be paying for.
