As a student, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from professional engineers and expand my knowledge in the field. This experience has been such an amazing opportunity in preparing me for my future career, as a civil engineer, and I cannot thank everyone at Carpenter Marty Transportation enough.

I am thrilled to have had the exceptional opportunity to serve as a summer intern at Carpenter Marty Transportation, where I gained invaluable insights and practical experience in the transportation industry. My internship was a true learning adventure that significantly broadened my knowledge and skills in civil engineering, providing me with a deeper understanding of the complexities and intricacies of the field.

Throughout my time at Carpenter Marty Transportation, I was fortunate enough to gain insights into the world of roadways, traffic laws and regulations, and even had the opportunity to delve into MicroStation software. One of the highlights of my internship was getting the opportunity to participate in the inspection of the SFC Terrance N. Gentry Memorial Bridge, which was an incredible hands-on learning experience that gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of safety and precision in our work. This experience not only taught me about the technical aspects of bridge construction but also highlighted the significance of attention to detail and meticulous planning in ensuring the safety of those who use these structures.

What truly made this internship stand out, however, was the people. I was able to form meaningful connections with my coworkers, who were not only knowledgeable and experienced professionals but also super friendly and eager to share their expertise with me. As a student, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from them and expand my knowledge in the field. Their guidance and mentorship played a significant role in helping me develop my skills and confidence, and I appreciate the investment they made in my growth.

This experience has been an amazing opportunity in preparing me for my future career as a civil engineer. I’ve gained confidence in my abilities and developed essential skills that will serve me well as I continue my studies and pursue my professional goals. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Carpenter Marty Transportation for making this internship such a memorable and enriching experience.
