The City of Tipp City, through a qualification based selection, chose Carpenter Marty Transportation to provide engineering design services for the widening of CR 25A from the IR 75 entrance ramps at Exit 69 south to the SpringMeade facility at Floral Acres Drive. The project improved safety on the roadway and supported future development in the corridor. Roadway improvements included widening the roadway from four to five lanes along approximately 3,450’, reconstruction of pavement, new curb and gutter, street lighting, closed storm sewer system, and utility coordination. The project replaced two traffic signals which include loop/radar detection and fiber connections integrating the new signals into the existing traffic management system. One signal replacement was at the intersection with Kessler-Cowlesville Road at the north end of the project.  The second signal replacement was at the drive to the Meijer Distribution Center located in the middle of the project. This signal was designed to accommodate a future eastern leg of the intersection and traffic produced by new development in that area. The Meijer Distribution Center contributes a high volume of heavy trucks to this section of CR 25A. Pavement make-up is designed to accommodate the heavy truck traffic. This project also included a traffic study for the future development on the east side of CR 25A east of the Meijer Distribution Center.
