Looking back on my internship at Carpenter Marty Transportation, I am so grateful for the amazing experience that I have had. As someone who is still very new to the industry, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started, but right from day one I felt welcomed into a community that values learning and growth.

What stood out the most during my time here was the genuine kindness and support from all that I worked with at Carpenter Marty Transportation. It was clear to me that they were invested in my personal development and eager to help me succeed. I never hesitated to ask questions because I knew that no matter who I asked I would receive very thoughtful answers and guidance through any problems I came across. This availability and openness made facing problems less daunting throughout my time here.   

My internship helped confirm my passion for transportation, which I had identified before joining. Working on numerous projects allowed me to apply the skills and knowledge gained from the classroom to real world scenarios and gain insights that aren’t found in student textbooks or lectures. Each day presented an opportunity to learn something new, whether it was understanding project development processes or honing my technical skills.

One aspect I truly appreciated was the variety of projects that I was able to be involved in. From the initial planning stages to the final execution, I gained a comprehensive understanding of project lifecycles and the amount of collaborative effort required to deliver quality work. The hands-on experience and exposure to different project types have not only broadened my own skills but also deepened my interest in a career in transportation.

Beyond the professional growth achieved during my time here, the friendships and connections I’ve made here have been invaluable. From team-building activities to casual conversations over lunch, I’ve formed bonds that will last past my time here as an intern.

Overall, my internship at Carpenter Marty Transportation has been incredibly fulfilling. It has solidified my career aspirations and equipped me with the practical skills and experiences that will help me shape my career. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a wonderful environment and look forward to applying what I’ve learned here to my future career.
